Short-Term Therapy Success Stories: Ms. F.
Ms. F. was admitted to the hospital following a fall 2 weeks prior with ongoing reports of left hip pain. Upon admission, Ms. F. required minimal to moderate physical assist for all transfers, mobility and basic self-care activities. She was restricted from putting any weight on her left leg due to the type of surgery she had and had strict precautions to follow surgery as well due to the hip replacement. Following 5 weeks of therapy and after receiving an increase in her weight bearing, Ms. F. was able to return home at a modified independent level overall. She used a front wheeled walker and self-care items such as a Reacher and sock aide to help her follow her hip precautions which were still in place at time of discharge. Ms. F. reported to her therapist how pleased she was with the rehab and care she got from all of the nursing staff during the course of her stay at Mission Palms of Mesa Health and Rehab.
